Conventional dental surgeons use drills and burs to either cut, split or bore through bone. No matter how accurate the surgeon is there is always piezo surgery unittissue and bone loss. Piezo dental surgery uses ultrasound waves to cut bone without damaging soft tissue thus limiting unnecessary tissue and bone loss.

Similar to a laser, the ultrasound waves provide greater accuracy than conventional surgical techniques and greatly reduces healing times.

Procedures that benefit from the application of the Piezo technique are:

  • tooth extractions
  • periodontal surgeries
  • implant area improvement
  • implant surgeries
  • endodontic surgeries

Benefits of using Piezo Surgery:
Highly Accurate
The technique enables the cutting of hard tissues only. The surrounding tissues including arteries, sinus membranes and nerves are almost untouched resulting in very little damage to these tissues.
Very  Safe
Results are minimum trauma relative to the conventional drills and burs. The surgery results in minimal bleeding. There is also minimal swelling and patients experience little post-operative discomfort or pain.
Extremely Versatile
The instrument has different programs and inserts based on the surgical procedures being performed.  For example, by selecting certain inserts, a surgeon is able to make even difficult extractions simple while resulting in no fractures of the bone.
